WebBeds, the world’s second largest B2B accommodation provider (comprising the JacTravel, Sunhotels, Lots of Hotels, totalstay and FITRuums brands) has appointed Karen Robertson as Managing Director of JacTravel’s DMC Division in Europe.

Karen has been part of the Senior Management Team at JacTravel since 2004 and takes on the role from her previous position as Director of Product and Marketing.

The JacTravel DMC business has gone from strength to strength in recent years, building on its specialism of the UK and Ireland.  Europe has become a more significant destination for the long-haul client base, with the DMC division focusing heavily on the Americas and China to deliver further growth.  In 2017, the company won the UKInbound Tour Operator of the Year for the fourth time in the last seven years.

Karen says of her appointment: “It’s a hugely exciting time for the DMC business now that we are part of the wider WebBeds organization. We are fully focused on carrying on the good work that has facilitated our growth over the recent years whilst at the same time taking advantage of the scale and opportunities that the expanded WebBeds network offers our clients and suppliers alike.”

Nigel Horne, CEO of WebBeds in Europe added: “We are delighted that Karen has accepted the role of Managing Director. The wealth of experience that she brings is invaluable and she has played an integral part in the growth and innovation that the JacTravel DMC team have delivered in recent years. We are confident that Karen’s energy and expertise will drive the business forward to meet our very ambitious growth objectives for the business.”

The DMC division has offices in Edinburgh, London, Dublin and Cluj-Napoca, with sales teams also based in Germany, France, China and North & South America. The London-based team will soon be moving into a new, dedicated facility located near the existing premises in Hammersmith.
