Amorgos Tourism Film Festival: The Women Cultural Association of Amorgos and the Municipality of Amorgos, are pleased to announce the 10th International Amorgos Tourism Film Festival which will be held on the Greek island of Amorgos at the 5 stars Aegialis Hotel & Spa from the 31st October to the 5th of November, 2019.




The main goal of Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is to set up an international platform, encouraging global tourism through audio-visual media, to promote the culture and sustainable tourism of Amorgos, the Cyclades Region & Greece and to preserve the environment locally and internationally.

The film submissions for the 10th Amorgos Tourism Film Festival are open until August 20th, 2019!

The Festival

The Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is an annual four-day event organized by the Cultural Women’s Association of Tholaria-Aigiali, Amorgos. It started in 2010 during the 8th International Convention of Culture and Tourism YPERIA and is held continuously since then.

It acts as a unique worldwide inspiration in the filmmaking industry and is considered one of the most important festivals in the Greek Tourism Audiovisual sector placing Greece in the center of the greatest potential for future development internationally.

It is co-organised by the Cultural Women Association of Amorgos and the Municipality of Amorgos and is supported by the Greek National Organisationthe Region of South Aegean islands and the Ministry of Aegean and Island Policy.

The event has been established as a meeting point for networking between the Tourist Trade, the Cinema and the International Promotion through media from around the world, by gathering great participation of journalists, filmmakers, directors & producers.

The Festival aims…

To contribute to the development of domestic and foreign tourism.

To disseminate and encourage the implementation of green practices in tourism, taking into account the need for social responsibility and sustainable development.

To Encourage the production of short films and develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation among producers from all over the world.

To contribute to the exchange of views and experiences for the development of remote and disadvantaged areas and to promote Amorgos, the Cyclades, and Greece abroad. Short films are a good opportunity to showcase the cultural and environmental wealth of each region.

Emphasis is placed on alternative forms of tourism, particularly in the protection of the environment, hiking, wellness tourism, cultural tourism, and religious tourism.

The bright sky, the white houses with the blue windows, the fuchsia bugambilias, the steep cliffs, the wild scenery and the deep blue sea on the horizon are some of the elements of nature that spread inspiration to our guests and ignited once more the creativity inside them.

Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is Member of CIFFT – International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals, a worldwide network with currently 18 Tourism Film Festival Members around the world. The main purpose is to promote excellence in audiovisual tourism promotion and reward and recognize the best films produced for destinations and tourism products. CIFFT is endorsed by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), European Travel Commission (ETC), Central America Tourism Organization (CATA) and Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).
