Emirates is serving its guests Bavarian specialties on board and in its airport lounges to celebrate Oktoberfest this year. From 21 September to 6 October 2019, customers between Dubai and Germany will be able to enjoy regional food and drinks in all classes of travel on board.

Bavarian snacks in the Onboard Lounge

First Class and Business Class customers will once again have the opportunity to clink their glasses with original Oktoberfest beer in the Onboard Lounge of the Emirates A380, unarguably the most popular social spot at 40,000 feet. The beer from Paulaner – one of six breweries serving beer at the Munich Oktoberfest – is served in traditional stone and classic beer mugs. Typical Bavarian snacks will be available at the bar to accompany the beer, including gingerbread hearts, pretzels with sweet mustard, Liptauer and Obatzter as well as various hearty sandwiches.

Nuremberg sausages in First Class and Business Class

In Emirates’ premium classes, customers on flights from Dubai to Germany can expect a particularly extensive, regionally inspired menu. During the first half of the Oktoberfest, Nuremberg chicken sausages with mashed potatoes and sour cabbage will be on offer, while Leberkaese with fried egg and fried potatoes in First Class and Leberkaese with sour cabbage and pan-fried potatoes in Business Class will be on offer during the second half. Warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce will be served as dessert. On flights from Germany to Dubai, customers will enjoy braised beef with red cabbage and potato dumplings.

Beef goulash and spaetzle in Economy Class

For those travelling in Economy Class on flights from Dubai to Germany, Emirates serves Leberkaese with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes on request and a piece of delicious Bienenstich for dessert. On routes from Germany to Dubai, passengers are spoilt for choice between two typical dishes: Beef with caraway sauce & Knöpfle or Nuremberg grilled sausages with sauerkraut.

In the Emirates airport lounges in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich guests can find typical Bavarian delicacies in addition to the regular offering. Customers can choose from Bavarian snacks such as Leberkaese, Weisswuerste, chicken legs, potato salad, Obatzter or pretzels.

Emirates serves multi-course gourmet meals in all classes. The regionally inspired cuisine is regularly supplemented with seasonal menus celebrating occasions such as Christmas, Diwali and Chinese New Year. The Oktoberfest specialties are available exclusively on flights to and from Germany.
