This December in Attica we put on our Santa Claus hat and our best… running outfit and participate in two delightful running events for a good cause! Run the Lake 2019 and SNF RUN: 2020 FIRST RUN invite us to run in stunning locations, in a truly festive mood. Ready?

Run the Lake is on for the 8th consecutive year, taking place in Vouliagmeni, a stunning location in Attica Riviera. On Sunday 22 December 2019 professional and amateur runners will enjoy a setting of unique beauty, running along the seafront, at a race that has become an institution. Three different routes – 2,000 metres for children (8-12 years), 4,900 metres for teenagers (15-17 years) and adults, and 10,200 metres for adults – start and finish at the same spot, Vouliagmeni Lake. After the end of the race, participants may swim for free in the healing waters of the majestic lake, whose temperature during winter is 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

This New Year’s Day marks the start not only of a new year, but of a new decade too, and this calls for a celebration you’ll remember for decades to come. Where? In Attica. How? Running the SNF RUN: 2020 FIRST RUN at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) Christmas World! The invitation is open to all, as the route covers a distance of just 4 kilometres around the festively bedecked SNFCC. Afterwards a big party will be awaiting runners at the SNFCC Agora. The race will start at four minutes after midnight, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, just after we ring in the New Year, with the most memorable fireworks show! Run the SNF RUN: 2020 FIRST RUN, set the pace for the coming year and support the work of small non-profit organisations, offering a different New Year’s present.
